Our pizza stones create crispy, tender pizzas that are oozing with mozzarella and covered with your favourite toppings. By using a pizza stone, you benefit from even heat distribution, ensuring that the pizza bakes evenly. What's more, the porous nature of pizza stones helps evaporate moisture from the dough, resulting in a crispier crust. You can use pizza stones in the oven, on a BBQ and in our pizza ovens.
How to clean a pizza stone
Avoid cleaning your pizza stone with water and soap as this can cause the stone to crack and impact the taste and texture of future pizzas. Instead, wipe down the pizza stone with a cloth once it's cooled down. For stubborn, stuck-on food, scrape it off with a spatula. If your pizza stone discolours or becomes a darker colour, this is completely normal. If you do need to use water, wipe with a slightly damp cloth.
How to use a pizza stone
To get the most out of your pizza stone, place in a cold oven and preheat to 260C. Once the oven is preheated, so is the stone, meaning it's ready to cook your pizza. Using a pizza peel, slide the pizza and bake until the cheese is lightly browned and bubbling and the crust is crisping up. Remove the pizza and turn off the oven, leaving the stone inside to cool. Once cool, brush crumbs from the stone - you only need to wash the stone with warm water if there's stuck-on bits of food.
