Air Fryer Asparagus

Crispy yet tender, our air fryer asparagus is topped with Parmesan cheese, chilli flakes and lemon juice for an exceptionally tasty side dish. Not only is this recipe simple and quick, but it can comfortably sit alongside various other recipes. A perfect accompaniment to roast chicken, stuffed peppers, risotto and more.

To make vegetarian, find vegetarian-friendly Parmesan cheese.

Cook: 4 - 8 minutes

Serves: 3 - 4  

Ingredients

1 pound asparagus

1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

¼ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Handful of dried thyme

Fresh lemon juice

Sprinkle of red pepper flakes

What you'll need...

Method

1. Remove the hard, woody ends of the asparagus and place the stalks in a large mixing bowl.

2. Drizzle with olive oil then sprinkle with salt, pepper and thyme. Toss to coat evenly.

3. Preheat the air fryer health grill to 200C and place the asparagus in the air fryer basket evenly. Avoid stacking and overlapping.

4. Air fry for 8 minutes, tossing halfway through. If your asparagus is thinner, check around the 3 minute mark to avoid burning.

5. Once all your asparagus is cooked, remove and sprinkle with Parmesan, red chilli flakes and lemon juice. Serve immediately.
