This set of 5 kitchen knives from our Nihon knife range includes a paring, utility, chefs, bread and carving knife with an exquisitely designed walnut knife block.
Designed with Japanese tradition in mind, our Nihon X50 range combines stunning carbonised ash wood handles with German X50 steel for a superior cutting edge.
The range features Japanese inspired blade shapes which are composed of steel referred to as X50CrMoV15. This denotes the use of 0.5% carbon for outstanding edge retention and 15% chrome for high corrosion resistance. Molybdenum and vanadium (MoV) also work to further strengthen the blade and improve stain resistance. The collection has an official Rockwell hardness rating (HRC) of 56±2 ensuring durability and easy sharpening.
Each handle in the Nihon range is crafted from carbonised ash wood, a process in which the wood is baked to remove moisture content resulting in a highly durable, richly toned handle.
With a sleek, slimline design, this block has deep, open slots allowing the blades to face away from the wood, removing any chance of blunting and ensuring blades stay sharper for longer.
This clever, easily accessible construction means each knife can be safely pulled out towards you, allowing you to position the block underneath cupboards, perfect where countertop storage is limited.
