The guide works with most knives and whetstones.
How to use your whetstone
With one hand, grasp the knife by the handle and hold the edge against
the whetstone, point-first, with the cutting edge meeting the stone at an
angle of approximately 20C (your sharpening guide will give you this angle)
With moderate pressure, slide the blade forward and across
the stone, (use water if needed) covering the entire length of
the blade and keeping the blade flush against the stone at a
constant angle
If the blade is very blunt start on the coarse side (dark grey)
and repeat between 3-10 times depending on
sharpening required. Flip the blade over and repeat.
For less blunt knives repeat the above process on
the fine side (light grey) only. This should also be
done to finish off the sharpening of very blunt knives
Rinse with water and dry. This process is now complete
