What you'll need...

  • 60g all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 60g panko breadcrumbs
  • 450g cod fillets, cut into strips
  • Cooking oil spray
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Tartar sauce, for serving

Method

  1. Mix the flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt and black pepper in a small mixing bowl. Add the beaten egg in another bowl and the panko breadcrumbs in a third.

  2. Pat the cod fillets dry using a paper towel before dredging the fish in the flour mixture, then the egg, and finally the breadcrumbs. Press down lightly to ensure the crumbs stick before spraying both sides of the coated fillets with oil.

  3. Air fry at 200C for 10 minutes, turning the cod fillets halfway through until crispy and lightly golden.

  1. Check for desired doneness with a fork to see if it flakes off easily.

  2. Serve immediately with chips, tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon.
