Serve up extra crispy and delicious tofu, perfect for topping stir fry or to be enjoyed as a snack with a sweet chilli dip.

This air fryer tofu recipe is super easy to do and provides a healthier alternative to fried foods. Perfect for noodle dishes, rice bowls and salads. Make a simple dipping sauce if you fancy a quick snack.

What you'll need...

  • 1 block of extra firm tofu, pressed for 30 mins
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Method

  1. Cut the tofu into uniform cubes – we recommend 1” cubes. Place the tofu in a mixing bowl and pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss to ensure even coverage. Add in the garlic and onion powder, paprika, cornstarch and salt and pepper. Combine until each piece of tofu is coated. 

  2. Preheat the air fryer to 200C. Arrange the tofu in a single row, making sure there’s no overlapping or touching. Cook for 5 minutes before turning over the tofu and cooking for a further 5 minutes.  

  3. Once it’s reached your desired crispness, remove and enjoy as a snack paired with sweet chilli sauce, or use to top stir fries and other meals.
