Easy

Instead of pizza dough, we’ve used French bread to create a quick and tasty lunchtime dish.

Not only does the French bread crisp up in the oven, but it’s simple to create, can be customised with your favourite toppings and is kid-friendly – why not get the whole family involved when adding your chosen ingredients?

What you'll need...

  • 1 loaf French bread, cut lengthways and in half
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200ml pizza sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella
  • Toppings of your choice, but we love pepperoni and red onion
  • Fresh basil, roughly chopped

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C.

  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise. Mix the melted butter and garlic together and brush all over the bread slices. Place on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 - 8 minutes.

  3. Remove the bread from the oven and spread the pizza sauce on top and place your desired ingredients on top along with a sprinkle of mozzarella. Bake again for 10 minutes or until crisp, golden and the cheese has melted.

  4. Top with a sprinkling of basil and serve immediately.
