What you'll need...

  • 1 x pizza base mix or pre-made pizza base (24cm in diameter)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 200ml passata
  • 125g ball mozzarella, torn into pieces
  • 6 large pepperoni slices, cut into bats
  • 8 pitted black olives
  • Sundried tomatoes, optional
  • Handful of fresh basil, optional

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C fan / 220C / gas 7.

  2. Add the passata and olive oil to a saucepan and bring to the boil, reducing and simmering for 5 minutes or until thickened.

  3. Whether you’re using a pizza base mix from a box or a pre-made base, follow any instructions listed. Roll out the dough to roughly 24cm in diameter if making your own dough. Transfer the dough to a pizza tray and turn up the edges for a crust. Leave in a warm place for 10 minutes while you prepare the toppings.

  1. For 6 olive spiders, slice 3 olives into halves (these will be the bodies). Take 3 more olives, halve them, then thinly slice each half into 4 strips so you have a total of 8 legs for each spider body. For the 2 remaining olives, cut them into small chunks and use for the mozzarella ghost’s eyes.

  2. Spread the passata over the base, being careful to leave roughly a 1cm border. Top with the mozzarella and shape into ghosts (allow room to spread) and place the pepperoni bats and olive spiders. Add the sundried tomatoes if you’d like.

  3. Cook the pizza for 15 minutes or until bubbling, golden and crisp. Remove from the oven and add olive eyes to the ghosts and basil leaves if you wish. Serve immediately!
