Sustainability

At ProCook, we are committed to making our business more sustainable because we care about the future. We are on an exciting journey and have already made numerous changes to minimise our environmental impact

Products & Packaging

High quality products and making conscious decisions.

Our top priority is to sell high-quality, durable products that are built to last while minimising their environmental impact. Our in-house teams design, source, and refine each product with a focus on quality, functionality, sustainability, and style, ensuring our customers can enjoy our products for many years to come.

Over recent years we have significantly reduced the amount of single-use plastic in our product packaging by frequently reviewing and improving our design, with nearly all our product packaging being free of single use plastic. Although our transit packaging may contain some plastic, we continue to invest in more sustainable and innovative packaging alternatives to protect products on their journey.

We encourage people to choose quality over quantity: buy better, buy once.

How to best care for your products

Our Packaging

We have made some key sustainable changes to our packaging:

  • 95% of our product packaging is easily recyclable from home.
  • Cardboard product packaging is fully recyclable, shiny coatings have been removed.
  • Transit cardboard boxes are 100% FSC certified.
Working towards a Circular Economy

We are challenging ourselves to make better choices for both people and planet.

  • Adhering to the European Waste Hierarchy, we follow the principles of prevention, reduce, reuse, recycle and recovery before disposal.
  • We sell products that are designed to last, encouraging reuse and mindful consumption.
  • We minimise stock waste, damaged stock is sold as seconds or donated to our charity partners. Where it cannot be reused, items are recycled with our waste provider at SSC.
  • We avoid landfill for all waste.
  • We sell tote bags to promote reuse, our charged carrier bags are made from recycled plastic bottles.
  • Our displays for shop windows and in store are regularly reused, and recycled at their end of life.
Our Suppliers

Most of our supplier relationships are long established, and we're committed to working in a transparent and fair way. We maintain great supplier relationships and are committed to responsible sourcing and ethical trading. We are a Sedex member a platform that aids in managing and improving global supply chain working conditions, 100% of our suppliers are audited annually via SMETA audit or BSCI Amfori audit. ProCook has a zero-tolerance policy on Modern Slavery, and we expect both those who work within our organisation and our external partners to adhere to and respect the highest ethical standards.
